Mountain Summer

Planai and Hochwurzen in Schladming and Rohrmoos are the best locations to spend a pleasant summer's day out. From the top of Planai, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view: the Enns valley lies below you – and at eye-level, the Dachstein massif rises to greet you. Our youngest visitors can play to their heart's content in the playground adjoining the Schladminger Hütte.
Those who would like a more restful time can stroll along the panoramic circular trail or visit the "Ort der Besinnung" or "Place of Reflection" (contemporary Christian architecture on the small Planai Lake). The panorama trail is suitable for the whole family and is also pushchair-friendly.

The lodgekeepers at Planaihof, Schladminger Hütte and Schafalm are open all summer and invite you to make a pleasant stop on the return leg of your route.
Just a few steps away from the coach terminus is the Planai Adventure Park. At an altitude of 1,800 m, one can climb from treetop to treetop, all the while enjoying an impressive vista. Discover the mountain forests from a completely new perspective! The park has 40 exciting vantage points for both kids and adults – absolutely perfect for a family day out.
The four courses are graded at different difficulty levels. If accompanied by an adult, children 3' 7" (110 cm) and taller can play in part of the park grounds. A total of 40 exciting vantage points await – ranging from 1 m to 14 m above ground level.

Those who want more action can thunder down the downhill course into the valley in the Planai Bike Park. As one of the longest mountain bike downhill courses in Austria, it's now become a regular attraction for the mountain biking community! Starting at an altitude of about 1,400 m – next to the Planai Golden Jet mountain stop – the trail finish line is in the Planai Olympia Stadium. And in-between, pure adrenalin: 100% first-class gradients.

The world's first summer sledging run on Hochwurzen guarantees fun for all the family. Travel in comfort to the top with the Hochwurzen mountain railway! You then pick a real wooden sledge or a mountain go-kart before zooming down the 4.5-mile forest road (which in winter becomes the famous Hochwurzen Toboggan Run) into the valley below. With this premier summer sledging run, fun is guaranteed – whatever the weather!
As a result of building work at the Planai Valley Terminal, the Planai Infopoint will also move into the Golden Jet Valley Terminal for the summer. Here, guests can continue to enjoy the standards of service that they have come to know over the years.
