The Green Cable Railway

“The green cable car” – this term describes the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen’s efforts for a comprehensive, sustainable, conservational, and environment-oriented company policy. It has always been a central focus of the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen and is anchored in the Mission Statement. More than 99% of the slope surfaces are located on foreign ground. This fact alone obligates the company to take good care of its leased, “borrowed” areas.

Working as partners
The Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen places a high value on cooperation with the farming community, landowners, forest associations, the local population, and institutions and organisations active in the areas of nature and the environment (e.g. Alpine Association, mountain guides, etc.). Furthermore, the best possible cooperation with government authorities plays a big role. The agricultural origins of many employees and the management and the resulting emphasis on nature also have a very positive effect on the attitude of the company and its employees towards environmental protection.
