Night Race
Nightrace 2011
Jean-Baptiste Grange also wins the Slalom Classic in Schladming. This is the second successive victory for Grange following his win in Kitzbühel, permitting the Frenchman to take his place among the great Schladming victors. The French star is only the eighth man to have won the prestigious slalom event. The Swedish camp surprised the 45,500 spectators with an outstanding performance. In particular Andre Myhrer, who claimed second place. It is the second time the Swede has claimed a place on the podium, having finished third in 2005. Mattias Hargin (SWE) took third place, his first top-ten finish in Schladming.Benjamin Raich was the best-placed Austrian in ninth position. None of the Austrian slalom artists made it onto the podium, in the Night Race’s 15-year history this has happened only once before, at the Night Race 2002.
