NEW Snow World Hochwurzen
An “underwater world of ice and snow” captivates guests on the Hochwurzen!

The Temple of Poseidon, a shipwreck, mussels and fish – all these can be found not only on the ocean floor but also on the Hochwurzen. A total of 12 ice sculptors are working on the very latest must-see attraction. The new Snow-World Hochwurzen, situated alongside the Sun Jet mountain station, allows guests to immerse themselves in a world of snow and ice. The figures, which stand up to nine metres in height, were created from 1,300 m3 of snow and have been sculpted with faithful attention to the tiniest detail.
An “underwater world of ice and snow” allows guests on the Hochwurzen to immerse themselves in a completely new world. Situated alongside the Sun Jet mountain station, Snow-World Hochwurzen has been created in a record time of just one week. The nine-metre-high Temple of Poseidon, a huge octopus, a shipwreck, fish and mussels are sure to delight visitors of all ages. Snow-World Hochwurzen has been created from a total of 1,300 m3 of snow – equivalent to 130 lorryloads. “A total of 3,000 m3 of snow were moved for the entire artwork”, reports Michael Bachnetzer, a sculptor and teacher at the Geisler-Moroder carving school in Elbingenalp (Tirol). He and his 12-strong team succeeded in accomplishing their biggest ever project in the shape of Snow-World Hochwurzen. “Since we all plough a lone furrow in our daily work it made a welcome change to get involved in such a major group project before Christmas”, enthuses Michael Bachnetzer.
INFOBOX:
Snow-World Hochwurzen is by the Sun-Jet mountain station. Access is by the Hochwurzen summit cable car (daily from 8:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m.) to the middle station or by the Sun Jet lift (daily from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.)
