Sled Run

The 7 km long natural sled run on Hochwurzen is one of the longest sled runs in the Alps. It is open for sledding both during the day and the night. In the evenings, it is lighted from 19:30 to 23:30 every day (except Sundays).

Float comfortably up the mountain
Sledders float uphill with the Planai-Hochwurzen Gipfelbahn. This cable car offers enough space in its pods to transport sleds, which can be rented close by the valley station. The starting point of the sled run is located directly on the Hochwurzen summit.

Glide gleefully down to the valley
Sledding is a unique, romantic pleasure on two runners in the middle of nature and winter. Stopping off for food is part of it – and you won’t miss out on Hochwurzen. The lodges are well distributed between the starting and finishing points of the sled run and offer enough space even for large groups.

Hot tip for night owls:
The night bus can take you to the sled run and back. It runs until one in the morning in the Schladming area.
