The Planai is a popular destination for anyone who enjoys mountain biking or e-biking. In addition to the Bikepark Schladming with its diverse trails, the Uphill Flow Trail and the Planai circuit invite you to go on sporty tours. Both routes are suitable for mountain bikes and e-bikes and lead through varied landscapes with impressive views. E-charging stations along the route provide new energy - for you and your bike. If you want to take a break, the huts and mountain restaurants on the Planai offer cozy places to stop for a bite to eat. This makes every bike day a successful experience.

Uphill Flow Trail

in the Bikepark Schladming

The Uphill Flow Trail on the Planai offers a varied ascent for mountain bikers and e-bikers - with a continuous trail character. The route starts at the Planai middle station and leads up a steady incline towards the mountain station.

Facts about the trail:

  • Length: 6.77 km
  • Duration: approx. 1:30 h
  • Elevation gain: 483 m

The route runs through shady sections of forest and always offers beautiful views. Once at the top, a well-deserved break awaits - and the decision for the descent: either relaxed via the Planai toll road or as a sporty variant via the Flowline.

Uphill Flow Trail Ticket

This ticket is for anyone who does not have a valid cable car ticket but would like to use the Uphill Flow Trail. With a valid cable car ticket, no additional ticket is required. The ticket can be purchased on site at the ticket machine using coins or an ATM card.

Mountain bike route

Planai round

The Planai Tour combines a sporting challenge with impressive scenery and a varied route - perfect for mountain bikers and e-bikers.

Facts about the tour:

  • Length: 34.26 km
  • Duration: approx. 4:30 h
  • Ascent and descent: 1,142 m each

The tour starts directly in Schladming and first leads through the Talbachklamm gorge into the Untertal valley. The route continues along partly asphalted mountain roads to the Planai middle station. From here, the Uphill Flow Trail leads up to the mountain station. There are two options for the descent: the Planai toll road or the Flowline in the Bikepark Schladming. There are several huts to stop off at along the way.

Huts with a view and regional cuisine

Whether it's a sporty tour or a relaxed ride - the Planai has the right refreshments for you. There are three huts right on the Uphill Flow Trail that invite you to take a break. If you ride the Planai loop, you will pass a total of six refreshment stops - ideal for a break with regional cuisine and panoramic views.

All huts can be reached directly from the trail - without any detours. Whether for a quick refreshment or an extended stop: the combination of exercise and enjoyment makes every bike day complete.

E-bike charging stations

on the Planai

Three e-bike charging stations are available on the Planai.

This makes it easy to plan your tour - with sufficient range for the ascent and descent. The e-charging stations are located at the following locations:

  • Planet Planai valley station - parking lot opposite the TUI BLUE hotel
  • Planai mountain station - directly in the finish area
  • Schafalm - at the hut along the route

Mountain biking & Uphill Flow Trail in the Bikepark Schladming

Yes, a valid cable car ticket is required to use the Uphill Flow Trail. If you do not have one, you will need your own Uphill Flow Trail ticket.

The following tickets are valid for the Uphill Flow Trail:

  • Bike ticket for the cable car
  • Single ride (ascent with the bike)
  • Bike season ticket
  • Gravity Card

Important: The Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard is not a valid ticket for the Uphill Flow Trail.

The ticket is available directly at the start portal of the trail. There is a ticket machine there that accepts both coins and card payment.

No, the trail may only be used during the official bike park opening hours - daily from 9:00 to 18:00 when the cable car is in operation.

The start is at the Planai middle station. Follow the forest path below the station - just before the barrier you will find the start portal on the right-hand side.
