Hopsi winter hiking trail

Planai

The Planai main cable car takes you directly from Schladming to the mountain station. The pedestrian tunnel leads to the Hopsi Express, which takes guests to the Kasalm. From there, continue towards the Märchenwiesenhütte, where the approximately 2-kilometre-long circular trail begins, offering numerous exciting play stations for children. Along the way, they can experience adventures in a North American teepee, discover the surrounding mountains through a giant telescope or try out their climbing skills on the big spider in ‘Australia’. Halfway along the trail is the Lärchkogelhütte, which invites you to stop for a short break and refreshments. The return journey then takes you back to the valley via the Hopsi Express, the pedestrian tunnel and the gondola.

4-season path

Hochwurzen

The tour starts comfortably with a ride up the mountain on the Hochwurzen summit lift. From there, the winter hiking trail first leads past the Hochwurzenalm and along the toboggan run for a short distance. After about five minutes, the signposted path branches off to the right in the direction of the Hochwurzen II cable car. The well-groomed path runs through snow-covered woodland and repeatedly opens up to fantastic views - including of the Reiteralm. After around 2 hours of walking, you will reach the Winterer parking lot. If you have parked your car at the summit lift, you can either hike back or take the ski bus. Tip: Sports enthusiasts can of course also hike the trail uphill.
