Backstreet's back in Schladming - three times!
In2025 , the Backstreet Boys will be guests on December 5, 6 and 7 , transforming the Planai Stadium into a huge pop stage. Since the 1990s, they have been inspiring audiences around the world with timeless hits such as "I Want It That Way", "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)", "As Long As You Love Me" and "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)".At the Ski Opening 2025 in Schladming-Dachstein , you can not only look forward to these classics, but also to brand new material: their anniversary album Millennium 2.0 will be released on 11 July - a reissue of their cult album Millennium from 1999. Look forward to an unforgettable event - full of music, action and winter feeling.

Arrival & Getting There
Please note that there may be waiting times when arriving. Therefore, plan enough time and try to arrive at the event site as early as possible. On-site, the parking guidance system will help you find your way – just follow the signs and use the parking areas provided by the city of Schladming.
The underground garage and the parking structure at the Planai Stadium will be closed on event days.

Bus timetables for the 2025 ski season opening
From 5 to 7 December, our concert shuttle will take you safely and stress-free to the Backstreet Boys concerts and back again. All departure times and prices are clearly listed in our timetables.
The ski pass is not valid for the concert shuttle.

VIP Diamond – Panorama Grandstand
For VIP ticket holders, there is a FASTLANE at ENTRANCE B.
Seats in the grandstand are assigned – your seat number is printed on your ticket.
Panorama Grandstand (Category 1, 2 & 3)
Seating is open in the Panorama Grandstand. To ensure a smooth seating process, please do not block or reserve seats.
Standing Area / Golden Circle
Please refer to the on-site signage to find the entrance corresponding to the category on your ticket to access the correct area.
Hohenhaus Tenne Special Card
Your entrance is located at ENTRANCE B, with direct access to the Hohenhaus Tenne.
Wheelchair Users
Parking is available at Congress Schladming. Show your ticket to the security staff.

Skiing
at Planet Planai / Planai Stadion
Planai Cable Car
- Operating daily from December 5th, from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM.
There is no parking available at the Planai Stadium.
Descent & Finish Slope
If the Planai finish slope is already open, you can ski down to Planet Planai until around 4:00 PM. After that, this access route will no longer be available.
Access & Area Restrictions in the Afternoon
There may be restrictions around Planet Planai in the course of the afternoon.
Ski Depot & Service Areas
- The ski depot in the Planai basement remains closed (except for season renters).
- The info point and the Bründl Sports Shop are open until 6:00 PM – however, there may also be limitations later in the day.
Ski bus
The ski bus stop has been relocated to Rathausplatz. All lines run from there as usual.

The Grand Festival
The start of the winter season in Schladming-Dachstein was a real highlight! The three-day Ski Opening 2024 was opened by Bryan Adams , who provided unforgettable goosebump moments in front of 10,000 enthusiastic fans in the Planai Stadium with classics such as "Summer of 69" and "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)".
On the second evening , British world star Sting enchanted the audience with a great mix of his solo hits and unforgettable songs by The Police. Around 9,500 fans created an atmospheric sing-along experience in a wintry setting - highlights such as "Every Breath You Take" and "Roxanne" will remain unforgettable.
Simply Red played the grand finale on Sunday: frontman Mick Hucknall wowed the 7,000 guests with an emotional performance and a rousing setlist. Classics such as "If You Don't Know Me By Now" made for a magical finale.
With over 26,500 visitors from 30 countries, an extended stay and the best piste conditions including fresh snow, the event was a real win for the region - and an unforgettable start to the winter season.
Looking back: A ski party with tradition
Top international acts have been celebrating the start of the ski season in Schladming since 2007. Stars such as PINK, Kid Rock, David Guetta, the Swedish House Mafia, Robbie Williams, Sting and many more have already helped to organize Austria's biggest ski party here

We want to celebrate with you and consciously take responsibility! That's why we take sustainable measures every year at the Ski Opening to reduce waste and protect the environment:
- Use of reusable cups and active waste separation
- Biodegradable plates
- Regional products from the region
- Promotion of public transport (ÖBB)
- Shorter transport routes thanks to regional infrastructure
- No large fireworks displays - they may look spectacular, but they are too damaging to the environment
