From Hotel Winterer you follow Hochwurzenstraße road (the toboggan run) to the 1st hairpin. Here you turn-off right and follow the 4-seasons trail. Via several hairpins you ascend to the mountain saddle of Hüttecksattel and from there you reach the Hochwurzen toboggan run in a couple of minutes. You follow the toboggan run uphill for about 400 meters (one hairpin) and reach Hochwurzenalm chalet. Another 200 m uphill you reach the summit of Hochwurzen and Hochwurzenhütte Inn.

In winter, caution is advised even on seemingly easy hikes. In shady areas, the ground can be slightly icy, and there may be avalanche danger below slopes. Mountaineering is therefore primarily a matter of personal responsibility – even more so in winter. Tourist associations and avalanche warning services assume no liability whatsoever based on the information provided.
