Safety on the slopes
Digitalisation of ski patrol
The Planai-Hochwurzen cable cars are considered pioneers in digitalisation and efficient operations – and these developments also extend to piste rescue. Since January 2026, accidents on the slopes have been recorded digitally, making paper forms a thing of the past. This not only reduces paper consumption, but also significantly increases the accuracy of data collection.
The digital solution enables fast and precise evaluation of accident statistics: at a glance, it is possible to see on which slope, at which point and in what weather conditions accidents occur. On this basis, targeted safety measures can be implemented to minimise risks for winter sports enthusiasts.
Internal processes also benefit: data can be processed directly, typing is no longer necessary, and the entire ski patrol rescue process is made more efficient. This saves time, prevents errors and significantly improves the flow of information between the departments involved.
The digital recording of accidents shows how modern technology is making work on the slopes smarter, safer and more resource-efficient.
