Terms of use Bikepark Schladming

The use of the Bike-Park bears certain risks which can be limited by using common sense and by following some basic rules.

1. Operating Hours

The hours of operation posted by Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH (Ltd) are also the official operating hours of the Bikepark Schladming. Any use of the bike trails outside the operating hours is strictly prohibited and will result in legal consequences.


2. Protective gear and bikes

Every cyclist has to wear proper protective gear. A proper helmet and gloves are mandatory. Other protective gear is recommended, such as back, neck, elbow and leg protectors as well as gloves. Fullface helmets are mandatory on all black (difficult) tracks! Also, it is mandatory to use a properly-maintained bike suitable for the track conditions, e.g. a freeride or downhill bike. Riding on the tracks with bicycle trailers, child seats or similar is forbidden!


3. Trails

You may only use the marked trails. Any riding on spots not marked as bike trails is prohibited! If a trail is closed, an absolute riding ban applies.


4. Using the Bikepark

Before using the facility, you should understand the risks associated with it. Using the facility is only allowed with a valid Bike-Park ticket. Children under the age of 16 may only use the Bikepark Schldaming if accompanied by an authorized supervisor. The instructions of staff members must be followed, closed trails must be heeded. The terms of transportation of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH (Ltd) are to be followed. Any violation of the terms of use can lead to a withdrawal of the lift ticket.


5. Consideration of other Bikers

Every biker must act in such manner that he/she doesn’t endanger or harm other people.


6. Controlled Speed and Riding

Every rider must keep the path in sight! He/she has to adjust the speed and riding style accordingly to the terrain and weather conditions, as well as to the traffic density on the trails. The trails lead through technically challenging terrain, which requires perfect control over the bike and technical riding skills.


7. Line Choice

The biker approaching from behind has to choose a line which doesn’t put bikers in front of him/her in danger.


8. Overtaking

You may overtake from above, on the right side or on the left side, but only if you keep enough distance between yourself and the rider being overtaken for him to have enough room for any movements.


9. Stopping, Walking, Hiking

It is prohibited to all bikers to reside at a narrow passage or spots with poor visibility without need. A biker who fell has to clear the place of the accident as quickly as possible. Walking and hiking and especially hiking or riding up the bike trails is prohibited.


10. Taking Photographs and Filming

For safety reasons, taking photos and filming is prohibited on the bike trails. Only by expressive agreement by the Alpreif Ltd company and by agreeing to specific safety regulations, you can obtain permission to take photographs and to film.


11. Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) must be obeyed

When using public roads, make sure that the bikes meet the requirements of the StVO road traffic regulations according to Austrian law, or otherwise push the bike.


12. Read the Signs

Every rider must read the markings, signs and signals. Particular attention must be paid at crossings (STOP by all means!). If your bike does not meet the requirements of the StVO road traffic regulations, you must get off your bike and push it to cross a public street.


13. Provide Assistance

In case of an accident, every rider is obliged to provide assistance; we recommend that you always carry a mobile phone with you.


14. Identity Requirements

In case of an accident, every rider, whether witness or person involved, responsible or not, must be able to identify themselves.


15. Environment

Take care of your environment! Any garbage must be disposed at the respective provided places. Repairing bikes while on the trails is prohibited. The use of cold cleaners or non-biodegradable cleaning products is strictly prohibited.


16. Liability

Using the facility is exclusively at your own risk. No liability is accepted for any accidents, all users are liable for themselves.
The facility operators are excluded from any liability. Operator is Alpreif GmbH (Ltd)
